2012: Corinthians halt European domination

Corinthians’
victory over Chelsea in the 2012 Club World Cup final ended a five-year
run of success for European clubs, bringing the world title back to
South America for the first time since 2006. Paolo Guerrero’s goal was
all that separated the two teams in Yokohama as the Brazilian side
lifted the trophy for the second time, having won the inaugural
competition in 2000.
